Grill & Smoker Types
Outdoor cooking equipment includes gas grills, charcoal grills, pellet smokers and combination units with side burners or cabinets. Some arrive nearly complete, while larger products require cart frames, fireboxes, shelves, doors and cooking components to be assembled.
Built-in outdoor kitchens and permanent fire pits have separate services. This service focuses on freestanding customer-supplied grills and smokers, including normal product setup but not new gas-line construction.
Cart, Body & Shelf Assembly
The cart or base should be built square before the firebox or cooking body is secured. Wheels, casters and leveling feet need the correct orientation so the grill can move or lock as designed. Side shelves and doors are usually easier to align after the main body is stable.
Heavy fireboxes may require careful lifting onto the cart rather than using mounting bolts to pull them into position. If panels are dented or the cabinet is twisted from shipping, document the damage before continuing.
Burners, Grates & Cooking Components
Gas grills can include burners, heat shields, grease trays and cooking grates that fit in a specific order. Charcoal units may use ash pans, dampers and adjustable charcoal beds. These components should seat naturally rather than being bent to fit.
Grease-management parts are important for normal operation and should not be left out simply because the grill appears usable without them. The final product inventory should match the manufacturer instructions.
Pellet and Electronic Components
Pellet smokers can include a hopper, auger, controller, temperature probes and low-voltage wiring. External connectors should be routed away from sharp edges and hot surfaces. Assembly can include normal startup preparation without opening sealed controllers or motors.
If the product displays an electronic fault after correct setup, record the code and use the manufacturer support path. Board-level repair is separate from product assembly.
Fuel Connection & Site Boundaries
Propane grills may use the manufacturer-supplied regulator and cylinder connection when those parts are intact and the product instructions allow it. Any gas connection that requires modification, repair, conversion or permanent piping should be handled by an appropriately qualified professional. Electric grills and smokers need the power supply specified by the manufacturer.
The finished grill should sit outdoors on a stable surface with the clearances required by the product instructions. It should not be positioned under a low combustible cover simply because the cart fits there.
FAQ
Does assembly include connecting a propane tank?
A normal manufacturer-supplied cylinder connection may be part of setup when the product is intact and designed for it; gas-system modification or permanent piping requires appropriately qualified service.
Can pellet-smoker electronics be repaired during assembly?
No. External setup is included, not internal electronic repair.
Is outdoor-kitchen installation included?
No. Built-in outdoor kitchens have a separate service.
