Light Fixtures Covered
This service covers common ceiling and wall-mounted fixtures such as flush mounts, pendants, chandeliers and sconces when the main project is fixture installation, replacement or fixture-specific repair. It can also address selected track or recessed components where the scope remains fixture-focused.
Accent Lighting and Outdoor Lighting have separate services when layout and lighting effect are the main need. Switches and dimmers also remain separate.
Replacement vs New Fixture Location
Replacing a fixture at an existing prepared box is different from adding light where no electrical point exists. A new location can require a box, cable route, switching and wall or ceiling access.
The customer should say whether there is already a fixture at the location. This does not mean that creating a new branch circuit is automatically included in fixture installation.
Junction Box and Fixture Weight
Fixtures need suitable mounting support, especially heavy chandeliers or pendants. An existing box may have supported a lightweight light but still be unsuitable for a heavier replacement.
Ceiling type, box condition and fixture weight should be considered before installation. Structural capacity is not assumed without verifying the actual support.
Pendants, Chandeliers and Ceiling Fixtures
Pendant height affects both appearance and clearance above tables, islands or walkways. Chandeliers may arrive in several sections and can require assembly before mounting. High ceilings can also change access requirements.
Final height should be agreed before wires are cut or chains permanently shortened. The product instructions determine minimum clearances and assembly sequence.
LED and Dimmer Compatibility
Integrated LED fixtures and LED lamps can behave differently with dimmers. Flicker or incomplete dimming can result from incompatibility between the driver, lamp and control rather than a problem with the fixture mounting.
If dimmer replacement is needed, that becomes part of the controls scope and may require electrical work. No guarantee is made for compatibility across all products.
FAQ
Can a heavy chandelier use the existing box?
The box and support must be appropriate for the fixture weight.
Does installation include adding a new circuit?
A new circuit is not automatically included. Replacing a fixture at an existing prepared box differs from creating a new lighting location, which can need a box, cable route, switching and wall or ceiling access.
What if an LED fixture flickers on a dimmer?
Compatibility between the LED system and control should be reviewed.
