Hot Tubs, Spas & Cold Plunges
This service covers placement and installation planning for prefabricated hot tubs, spas and cold-plunge units. These products can differ in water volume, equipment location, electrical demand and drainage but share the need for a stable base and service access.
Saunas and pools have separate services. Surrounds and covers are also split into their own services so the main installation service can focus on the vessel and site.
Delivery Path and Equipment Weight
Large spa shells may need to pass through gates, side yards or narrow paths before reaching the final location. The delivery route should be checked before the unit arrives, including overhead obstructions and turns.
An installed spa is extremely heavy when filled, so the base should be suitable for the manufacturer load. The service does not make an unsupported structural-capacity claim about decks or slabs.
Base and Foundation Readiness
Concrete slabs, engineered decks or other manufacturer-approved bases can support different products. The surface should be level enough for the cabinet and waterline to behave correctly.
New slabs, structural deck reinforcement or major grading are separate construction scopes. They should be completed before the unit is treated as ready for placement.
Electrical, Water & Drain Boundaries
Hot tubs can require dedicated electrical service, while some cold plunges use plug-in equipment and others have more substantial power needs. Filling, draining and water treatment also depend on the product.
Permanent electrical and plumbing modifications are regulated work and should be separately confirmed. Installation should not imply that every utility can be added as part of delivery.
Cover, Access and Cold-Weather Considerations
Leave room to remove equipment panels, open the cover and reach controls after installation. In a cold climate, drainage, freeze protection and maintenance procedures should follow the product instructions.
The service can position and connect the unit within the agreed scope, but long-term water chemistry and winter operation remain product-maintenance responsibilities.
FAQ
Can a hot tub go on an existing deck?
Only if the structure is suitable for the loaded weight; that must be confirmed.
Does installation include a new electrical circuit?
A new circuit is separate regulated electrical work. Hot tubs and cold plunges have different power requirements, so the selected unit's electrical supply and any permanent plumbing modifications need confirmation beyond placement or delivery.
Are covers and surrounds included?
They have separate services and should be scoped explicitly.
