Misting System Types
Outdoor misting systems can be low-pressure lines connected to a water source or higher-pressure systems that use a pump for finer droplets. Systems can mount to pergolas, patio covers or other outdoor structures.
This service is for misting rather than irrigation. The objective is cooling and comfort in an outdoor living area, not watering landscape beds.
Coverage and Nozzle Layout
Nozzle spacing and direction determine where the mist reaches. Lines should follow the seating or activity area without spraying directly onto doors, windows or materials that should remain dry.
The product instructions and pressure system should guide nozzle count. Adding too many nozzles can reduce performance if the water supply or pump is undersized.
Water Source, Pressure and Filtration
The system needs a compatible water source and adequate pressure. Some products use filters to reduce mineral buildup in small nozzles.
New plumbing, backflow devices or permanent supply changes should be confirmed separately. No guarantee is made for performance from an unknown water source.
Mounting Lines to Outdoor Structures
Tubing can be clipped to beams, eaves or other surfaces using supports designed for the line. The route should remain neat and accessible for future nozzle maintenance.
Mounting should not damage roof membranes or structural components simply to conceal the line. The supporting surface needs to be appropriate for the clips or brackets.
Pump and Winterization Boundaries
High-pressure systems can include pumps, controls and drain-down procedures. Electrical supply for a pump and seasonal freeze protection should follow the product requirements.
Automatic freeze protection is not guaranteed. In cold weather, the customer needs to follow the system's winterization instructions.
FAQ
Is a pump always required?
No. It depends on the system design.
Can the mist line attach to a pergola?
Yes when the structure and mounting method are suitable.
Does installation include new plumbing?
New plumbing, backflow devices and permanent supply changes must be confirmed separately. The misting system needs a compatible water source and adequate pressure, with any pump and electrical requirements matched to the selected product.
