Interior vs Exterior Cleaning
Window cleaning can include interior glass, exterior glass or both. Access, number of stories and window type affect how the work is planned.
Window Repair and Weatherproofing remain separate services when the unit does not operate or seal correctly.
Screens/Sills/Tracks
Removable screens, accessible sills and tracks can be included in the cleaning scope when specified. Heavy buildup or damaged screens may require more than ordinary cleaning.
Window Screen Repair has a dedicated service for torn mesh or frame damage.
Hard-Water/Residue Boundary
Mineral deposits, paint, stucco and construction residue can require specialty treatment beyond normal dirt removal. Some deposits can etch glass and may not disappear completely through cleaning.
Hard-water, paint, stucco and construction residue may not be fully removable, so a spot-free or restoration result cannot be guaranteed.
Access & Height
Upper-story windows and difficult exterior locations require appropriate access. Customers should not be asked to remove screens or climb ladders unsafely just to prepare the job.
Very high or unusual access should be identified before scheduling.
Post-Construction Residue Boundary
New construction can leave adhesive, paint, concrete or sealant on glass. Removing those residues safely depends on the material and glass condition.
Post-construction restoration can be a different scope from routine maintenance cleaning.
Repair Issues Noticed
Cleaning can reveal failed seals, cracked glass, deteriorated caulk or damaged frames, but those conditions are not repaired by cleaning. The appropriate Doors & Windows work should be used for follow-up work.
This keeps routine cleaning and maintenance separate from window repair.
FAQ
Does window cleaning include screen repair?
No. Cleaning can include removable screens, accessible sills and tracks when specified, but torn mesh or damaged screen frames belong under Window Screen Repair. Cleaning the screen does not repair its material or structure.
Can hard-water spots always be removed?
Not always. Mineral deposits may need treatment beyond normal dirt removal, and some can etch the glass. The existing glass condition and residue determine what can be removed, so a spot-free restoration cannot be guaranteed.
Does cleaning fix fog between panes?
No; that is a window/glass issue.
