Fireplace Types and Scope
This service covers prefabricated fireplace units and outdoor fireplace features where the main job is assembly or installation. Electric, gas and wood-burning products have very different power, venting and fuel requirements.
Chimney repair is a separate service, and a simple fire pit has its own service. The fireplace service does not blur those different systems into one generic outdoor-fire feature.
Prefabricated Assembly
Prefab fireplaces can include a firebox, surround panels, chimney or vent components, doors and decorative trim supplied as one engineered system. The assembly sequence should follow the product because clearances and component order are usually specific.
Damaged firebox panels, missing vent parts or incompatible accessories should be resolved with the supplier rather than modified during installation.
Base, Surround & Clearance
The unit needs a stable base and the required spacing from combustible materials. A decorative surround can be built around some systems, but it should not block service access or violate the manufacturer's clearances.
If the project includes custom masonry or a new foundation, that work should be defined separately from the fireplace unit itself.
Electric, Gas & Venting Boundaries
Electric fireplaces need a suitable electrical supply, while gas products can require gas piping and venting. Wood-burning systems can introduce chimney, hearth and combustion requirements that go beyond product assembly.
Permanent utility and venting work may need licensed or specialized trades. The installation is not treated as turnkey until those conditions are confirmed.
Chimney and Masonry Boundaries
An existing chimney that is cracked, leaking or structurally damaged belongs under Chimney Repair. A custom masonry fireplace also becomes a larger masonry project rather than simple assembly.
The fireplace project can coordinate with related work, while flue inspection, chimney sweeping and masonry engineering remain separate scopes unless specifically included.
